119th Street Widening Project Logistics
The morning of the big concrete pour for the 119th Street widening, I saw a crew from a local contractor just sitting there, sweating in the July heat. Their main hauler had ghosted them, and their 40-yard dumpster was overflowing with broken asphalt and rebar scraps. They couldn't clear the pad for the next phase, and the foreman was staring at a full day's delay and a pissed-off general contractor.
We got the call at 10 AM. I had a driver with a roll-off truck rerouted from a pickup in Water Works within the hour. He navigated the tight site access perfectly, swapped their full box for an empty one, and had the waste headed to the transfer station before lunch. The contractor kept their pour schedule intact and avoided a costly penalty from the project manager.
You guys saved our schedule and probably our contract with the city.
